Trump had open emergency over missed call from Putin, previous No 10 helper says

Donald Trump detonated with outrage at one of his most senior helpers about missing a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as indicated by a previous No 10 authority. 

The US president's tirade about the missed call happened "directly in front" of previous executive Theresa May in Washington, her ex-head of staff Nick Timothy has uncovered. 

Mr Timothy talked about a "genuinely uncommon" lunch during which Mr Trump yelled at his then-public security guide Michael Flynn. 

"Someone just referenced in passing that Vladimir Putin had requested a call with him, and right in front us he totally yelled down Mike Flynn," he said. 

"Like truly yelled. This was at a conventional supper with stewards and extravagant ceramics – and he was appropriately yelling at him down the table." 

Mr Timothy said the president hollered: "If Putin needs a call with me you simply put him through." 

Talking on the What Were They Thinking? digital recording, the previous Downing Street figure included: "The entire thing was an unusual encounter. 

"Also, not particularly consoling about the province of [Trump's] mind, or the steadiness of dynamic in the White House." 

Mr Timothy – No 10 head of staff somewhere in the range of 2016 and 2017 preceding leaving in the wake of the 2017 general political race – likewise examined the discussion over Huawei and ongoing Conservative government mentalities to both the US and China. 

Ms May's senior associate said he was shocked his previous supervisor permitted Huawei a job in building up Britain's 5G framework, condemning her 2019 choice to endorse the Chinese firm as "incredibly, incautious".
